I’m not normally one to blow my trumpet unduly, but I can’t resist on this occasion. On Saturday I won the London heat of the Professional Speaking Association‘s Speaker Factor competition for public speaking – and I’m gob-smacked but delighted!
We had to present a five minute speech on a topic of our choice and I was one of 11 entrants, all of whom were excellent – the quality was incredibly high. My prize is to represent London region in the national final of Speaker Factor in Manchester in 3 weeks time.
I’ll blog more about what I talked about and what I got out of the experience (the chance to receive feedback from a room full of professional speakers) over the next few days but I just wanted to share my news!
